PAC Mission Statement
The SMS Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the school-wide Parent-Teacher Organization that serves the entire community of students, parents and staff of South Middle School. Our mission is to provide effective & efficient communication, support the learning environment for all, and provide an opportunity for all parents to participate in and engage with the SMS learning community.
OUR PAC AT SMS WILL SUPPORT…
ADULT LEARNING.
Determine parent learning needs and create learning opportunities for teachers, parents and our community to engage in the learning together. Learning will include book clubs, informal & formal gatherings, Parent Cafes and more.
BUILDING COMMUNITY.
As we continue to grow, we want to ensure our students, staff and parents feel a sense of community within the school and out in our community. Provide events and experiences that allow us to get to know each other, our backgrounds, talents and stories.
CONNECTING RESOURCES.
Locate & generate additional funding sources and resources for our teachers, classrooms and programs. Help identify resources, ideas and tools that will most benefit our students; which may include funding, resources, before or after school activities, etc. Be responsive to the school’s needs and balance that need with the community’s ability & willingness to provide extra support and time.
